4 eggs
2 tbs. of water finely-chopped chestnuts as much flour as needed
For the syrup:
1 water glass of honey
2 water glasses of sugar
1 water glass of water
Procedure:
Mix together and knead the dough and spread it into flat sheets using a rolling
pin, of medium size and width. Cut the pastry into strips about 3 inches wide
and length of about 8-10 inches, and fold them like bows. Fry them in a deep
fryer in hot, clear corn oil. Then dip them in the hot syrup (put the
ingredients for the syrup in a pot and bring to boil) and sprinkle them with the
chestnuts and cinnamon.
3 kilos of eggplants
1 kilo of ground beef
A little grated cheese
1
clove of garlic minced
1 cup of olive oil
1 diced onion
Salt
pepper
Bechamel
Margarine
Procedure
:
Cut
the eggplants
into thick slices and season with salt. Leave for ½ an hour and then rinse them
and spread across a greased pan. Bake them in the to
soften them.
Boil the ground beef with the garlic, oil, onion, salt, pepper
and a little water until it is well cooked and the water has evaporated leaving
the oil.
In a greased pan place a layer of eggplants, ground beef over that,
and then eggplants and so forth; lastly pour over the béchamel .Last of all
sprinkle with the grated cheese and a little margarine.
Bake at medium heat
for roughly one hour.
1 water glass of sugar
4 eggs meringue (only the whites)
1 tea cup of margarine
1 ½ tea cups of fine semolina
grated lemon peel
1tsp. vanilla
For the syrup:
1 ½ water glasses of sugar
1 ½ water glasses of water
Procedure:
For the meringue beat the egg whites in a bowl.
For the syrup, add the sugar to the water in a pot and bring to boil.
Put the melted margarine, the sugar, vanilla, egg yolks, lemon peel and the semolina in a bowl and mix. Lastly, add the meringue. Pour the mixture into a greased pan and bake it in the oven until it has risen and is lightly browned.
When it has baked, pour the syrup over it while it's still hot.
